Frequently Asked Questions + Personal Commission Policy

Q: What are your rates?

A: It depends on the job! I like to use The Graphic Artist Guild’s Handbook of Pricing and Ethical Guidelines. Let me know in your email or phone call exactly what you are looking for and I will respond as soon as I am able.

Q: What details do you need from me?

A: Great question! Please clearly state your timeline for when the art must be delivered, what size the work must be, what medium (digital print or purely traditional work), and clearly as possible what subject matter and feeling you want the art to evoke.

Q: Could you draw fan art for me if I give you money? Or draw me portraits in the style of x/y/z show/movie/artist?

A: Most likely no, I am sorry. I am not comfortable doing so unless you are officially licensed to hire someone for that property. I will only draw private commissions in the style of a movie/show/artist for noncommercial use. We can discuss over email!

I will not draw in the style of an artist/illustrator who is still working and alive. Please hire that person!

Q: Are you always accepting commissions? Day or night? Anytime? Anyplace?

A: No. I might say I cannot take on commission work. In this case, I will try to refer you to a list of other artists to reach out to. Please understand that when I turn down creative work it is not a judgment on the merit of your vision, sometimes I am simply not the right fit for the job. Please pursue your passion!

Q: Is there anything you absolutely will not draw?

A: I am not comfortable drawing commission work that would be rated “R” in the movie theaters.

Q: What are your favorite types of commissions?

A: I love drawing portraits of pets, posters for theatrical productions, work related to positivity, almost anything involving fairies/fairy tales, and work related to literature.
