“Suppose I Were”

Suppose I were a fisherman

Sailing out to sea

Suppose I were an English king

Staying in for tea

Or if I were a circus clown

Who made the good folk laugh

Suppose I were anyone else at all

Stop and think of that

If I were a circus clown

Would I grow to fit my shoes?

An English king can do anything

A fisherman is never blue

But at the end of the day I’ll still be me

And you will still be you

Maybe it’s enough for us to dream

And live in what is true.
